I take the dagger we found on the fallen Knight and hand it to Tyro.
"This might be more your size, careful though, it's very sharp."
Tyro examines the dagger carefully, "These animals look familiar," he says with a frown, "I have seen their like somewhere before. Now where was it?" |

| mprsflame | Apr 24, 4:02pm | | Approximately 3 hours after I left Kaar and went in search of my supplies, I proudly strut down the street in search of my friends. On my back is a shiny new battle axe. I have always wanted to own one and now I do. Also on my back is brand new backpack complete with rations, rope, lantern and oil among other necessary items. I am now dressed in a brand new dent free super shiny breast plate with matching (no less) shin guards and gauntlets. And on my feet, boots fit for a king, I mean queen! |

"Very smart," I compliment her. "A couple of days of road dust should dull it down OK. At the moment you are shining like a beacon!" I laugh, "Seriously though it all looks very well crafted and should serve you well. Have they any knives for sale? I suppose I could do with some new boots too."
I look down at my worn, patched shoes, soles so thin that now I could feel every pebble in my path. |

| mprsflame | Apr 25, 8:14pm | I say a grateful and somewhat loud Thank you to Kaar but then thinking on his words again I wonder if the road dust comment was meant as something else. Oh, well, no matter. I laugh along with my friend.
"Knives? That place has just about everything anyone would want. I swear their motto should read 'If we don't have it, You don't need it!!" I laugh again. "And remember, friend, you don't need to pay, just ask and they'll give." I wave to Kaar as I enter the cafe, I start to say something to one of the twins, (may the gods be helpful to me, I can't tell the two apart), when I remember that I wanted to ask Kaar if he found out anything more. But I decide it can wait until I have quenched my thirst. "Hey, ummm, you, umm, twin. Give me a large mug of mead, and have you by chance seen my other friend?" |

I just stood there looking around at the array of equipment, armour and weapons that were heaped everywhere. Why so much in such a small village? Very odd!
A curtain at the far end of the room is swept aside and a huge, muscular middle aged man walks up to me, smile on his face, hand extended.
Shaking hands mine is completely engulfed by his huge mitt.
I ask him about some throwing knives and new boots which he quickly produces. They are of excellent craftsmanship and finely balanced. The boots, of fine leather, are strong but flexible and he had guessed my size very well.
"These are very much to my liking," I tell him, pulling a money pouch from my belt.
He looks a bit worried and shakes his head, "No, no," He protests, "I ask no payment!"
"By the look of your shop you have not been doing much business of late," I remark. "How can you afford to give things away?" I toss the purse onto a nearby table.
He looks but makes no move to pick it up. "You are right," he sighs. "The news of the giants has spread far and wide so nobody has been here to buy for a long while. Now that you and your friends have rid us of this menace word will spread that our village is now safe and trade will start again."
I nod my head, "I would like you to make something for me, let us call that a pre-payment for a special order."
I slip one of my Shuriken from the folds of my tunic and pass it to him. "Can you forge some of these?" I ask.
"Hmm!" he examines it carefully, "Well, I have seen nothing like this before but if you will leave this one with me I will make faithful copies."
I thank him and after shaking hands on the agreement I go looking for my companions and head for the cafe. |

It had been a while, but as was my character I was sidetracked by the promise of wealth. Little did I like to admit it had all gone horribly wrong, but that was a tale for another campfire on another night.
Pulling my hood up closer around my chin a familiar face catches my attention. "Oh shit!" I mutter under my breath. The not so welcome familiar face of Dirk O'Hara is peering at me across the square. Perhaps I can get away unnoticed. |

I stand there looking around at the buildings and peaple going about their buisness.
"must be som'where ta get a drink"
looking across the square I see a figure exiting a shop...shady looking and by the way they move perhaps someone skilled like me in moving without being seen.
Tall tho...perhaps to tall for the buisness I usally conduct.
moving across the square I start to tale them ...hopeing they will lead me to the peaple i normally deal with. |

I slip into the shadows between two houses and quickly scan the square. I spot a dark haired stranger, armed to the teeth. He seems to be alone so I step out to greet him, as I do I notice Shai on the other side of the square. |
